DSG commenced in April 2006 as a partnership between South Gloucestershire Council and Gloucestershire Dance to address dance development within South Gloucestershire.
Priorities are to:
o Increase opportunities for participation and audiences for dance
o Address gaps in dance provision and support needs
o Provide dance opportunities for those with little or no arts experience
o Promote the benefits of dance including active lifestyles and personal, social and creative development
o Focus on the emotional and physical well-being of people
