U.Dance South West 2013 Applications Open

U.Dance South West 2013 is a regional platform celebrating young people’s dance from across the South West of England. The platform will take place at Pavilion Dance, Bournemouth on 16 and 17 March 2013. Schools, and youth dance companies (up to age 19) from across the region are invited to apply to perform at this high profile event.

Three words to describe this weekend? It’d say it’s been busy, exciting and different!                U.Dance South West 2012 Participant

Participants will stay overnight  at Pavilion Dance and take part in a variety of workshops, masterclasses, work with professional artists and share their skills and style with other young people. The weekend will culminate in a public performance in the Ocean Room Theatre, where a panel of judges will chose 2 groups to go through to Youth Dance England’s National U.Dance 2013 platform in Leeds in July.

Applications must be received by 12pm, Friday 30^th November 2012.

U.Dance New Dimensions

New performance strand for longer and more developed pieces:

Individuals, duets and groups (of up to 30 dancers) can apply for a new strand of the National U.Dance 2013 Platform, which will showcase longer pieces (up to 20 minutes) that embrace a more experimental approach and push the boundaries of what is expected of ‘youth dance’.
